Zero stars from me too Accessibility
Zero stars from me too - had to put one star otherwise it would not let me carry on!!!!
My daughter took me for my 60th birthday treat.
I am a wheelchair user - following a heart condition and stroke, my daughter telephoned to see if Clarice House was accessible - they assured her that it was!!!
We arrived ready for our day of relaxation - collected our towels etc - then went for a swim before our treatments.
Went to reception ready for our treatments only to be pointed in the direction to a huge flight of stairs!!! Went back to reception told there was a lift only to find that it was out of order!!!
I was offered my treatment which was supposed to be a full body scrub downstairs somewhere quite!!!!
I refused and my daughter got really upset and so did I - the staff should have telephoned all their customers to see if any needed the lift before they arrived.
Our whole day was ruined and we sat in the garden in the loungers after having to walk all the way round the front of the building though the car park in our swimming costumes as there is no accessible exits to the garden!!!!
I am upset angry and disappointed that accessibility was not taken into account.
I feel that staff and managers need to take training in what accessibility is before they say there establishment promotes it!!!!’n

Bannatyne at Grove Park is the worst…
Bannatyne at Grove Park is the worst gym by far that I've ever been to. Very unprofessional and unorganised company. Since I've joined one of the sinks in the women's toilets has been out of use until my membership finished, the ceiling in the toilets feels like it will cave in any minute due to classes being held above. The showers are a nightmare as they hardly work with hair all over the walls and mould on the shower heads! Yuck... The swimming pool smelled of urine on two occasions and the mould has spread all over the pipes walls and windows causing a horrible smell.

I only had a three months contract and by the end of my second month I cancelled knowing I had one month left, but the team of Bannatyne stated that I cancelled too late and had to continue to the fourth month which I highly declined! They ended up getting the debt collectors involved until I provided them with proof of how unwell I became and couldn't do my last month I paid for. They have closed my account and no monies are owed! Beware of this scamming gym and go elsewhere.

Shame there is no zero
Shame there is no zero

I booked a lovely birthday treat for my best friend and I to visit and I unfortunately could not attend as I was poorly with covid

Trying to contact to rearrange was an absolute nightmare especially as I was feeling so very poorly the website was under maintenance I did not hear anything and got a receipt for the additional treatments I had added to the day and a satisfaction survey ! I was so upset!
So eventually I heard and was told just to email to rebook

I have tried to do this original booking 27th June and have been told no bookings for spa days until September!!!! They are selling July spa days so do not buy assuming you can visit in July !

I’m so upset by this both my friend and I work in hospitals and we work so hard

I feel ripped off and wouldn’t step foot in a Bannatyne spa again rip off liars

Been told no refund either … will see about that !!

Motto don’t buy before you ask about availability which is zero or it was for me!!!!!

Disappointing
I was really surprised at the poor standard of Bannatyne in Tamworth as it is so expensive to be a member here. The gym equipment is very good to be honest and if that’s all you want then that’s fine. I joined for the swimming pool and spa area and these are very disappointing as not only is it small but it’s dated with tiles missing and a few times I went swimming, there was sand everywhere in the pool. I cancelled my membership ASAP

Bannatyne grove park
The swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna are all closed for maintenance. The receptionist said it may take a couple of weeks to get in fixed. The company has not offered any compensation for this and is still charging the members full price (£64 per month!)

Staff are friendly but no one helps you…
Staff are friendly but no one helps you in relation to cancelling your policy and the fees.

If you fall outside the cut off period (despite never using the gym again) you are still charged for another month which is an easy way for business to make money for people and then they can refer to their “T&C’s”

No wonder Duncan has so much money!

Awful company.
Due to health reasons I asked to freeze my membership, to have a response over a week later then telling me I’m now too late. They then took another over a week to reply and then sent me an email I’m being passed onto collections for over £500. All because I asked to freeze a month due to health reasons.
I’ve tried to escalate this informing them this stress is impacting my health even more now, and they are saying I need medical evidence. I sent them medical evidence and now it’s not exactly to their want from that… so it’s void. It’s written from the hospital themselves but that doesn’t suffice.
Horrible company. I want nothing to do with them after this at all.

Might I add the amount they charge you for a membership they pay staff the NMW. Money grabbers.

Waste of time & money
Booked my partner a spa day at Bannatyne through Spa Seekers. Absolute nightmare. My partner spent days trying to re-arrange the date both via email and phone. Spent over half an hour on hold before getting cutoff. When she finally spoke to someone she was told it was too late to amend the booking as it was within 48hrs of the orig booking - she explained she'd been trying to contact them for over 2wks!! Spa Seekers then charged me £25 to cancel/ refund my booking - quoting their Ts&Cs. Absolute shambles of company (both Spa Seekers and Bannatyne). You only have to look through the reviews to see this is almost common practice. Don't give these people your money.

Joined the Weybridge Gym on a 3 month…
Joined the Weybridge Gym on a 3 month contract. When I went down to collect my pass/fob the receptionist was on the phone and did not acknowledge me at all. I waited patiently and when the manager walked in, he asked if he could help. He went about checking my details and I received my key fob. I asked if I could be shown around (they didn't offer) and when I left 5 minutes later, I was told to check that my key fob worked...which it did. That afternoon, my work situation unexpectedly changed and meant that I was not going to be in the area now for the next 6 months. I emailed Customer Services to cancel within my "14 days cooling off period". I received an email a few days later saying they had cancelled but because I attended the gym, they were charging me £15 for the pleasure! I explained that I never actually USED the gym and was there only 5 minutes however I did not get a response to 5 emails I sent to Customer Services. I went onto Pissed.com and raised a complaint which may have got their attention. I did finally get a response from the manager with NO apology just saying thanks for the email and they've refunded the remainder. Truly appalling customer service and I'll never go back. I was a member of the Westminster gym for some time and it was always in such a sorry state. Dirty, broken changing rooms and generally tired. My advice - read these reviews and take your business elsewhere. You have been warned!

Struggling to get my Spa Bag hire deposit back
Struggling to get my £20 deposit back for Spa bag hire (there were 2 of us), everything is done online and there's no option to query this. Convenient? Also... flip flops were only available in small and large with a take it or leave it attitude ?

There was no hot water available for a…
There was no hot water available for a shower on 26-6-22. I complained at reception to the manager and was not happy with her response so I asked how l could make an official complaint. I was just given the GM e mil but that doesn’t allow a complaint to be registered. It appears that there is no complaints procedure in place?
I suggested that members should be made aware as they come in that there was no hot water for a shower, or maybe put up a notice, but that fell on deaf ears. There were problems with the boiler the previous day that obviously had not been rectified.
It’s open weekend this weekend, how on earth can Bannatyne attract new members when you cannot guarantee a hot shower before you leave. It’s supposed to be a health club, more likely to give you pneumonia having a cold shower.

Bannatyne Chingford is a disgrace
Bannatyne Chingford is a disgrace.
The shower area by the pool side has 3 showers. One has been out of order for at least 6 months. The other 2 are a health and safety issue due to the control handles been broken and taken off and not fixed for months.
The excuse is always the same whatever the problem that is not being fixed.
The company that made that part do not make them anymore.
That should tell you how old the parts are and they therefore need replacing.
Nothing should not be fixed within the month it is broken.
So much does not work and does not get fixed. I have been told that they have a list of what is not working but my understanding is that head office do not release the funds to get these things fixed.
The gents showers in the main changing room were due a refurbishment about 4 years ago and it got cancelled with no reason given except head office cancelled it.
All the gents showers need replacing and upgrading.

GAPING HOLES IN ROBES AND A SMASHED PHONE
Absolutely disgraceful experience at Brindley Place Spa! I do have to add firstly, the treatments for the lovely two ladies was gawj! As for the company themselves, wow! We were gna robes with gap I gaping holes in either side pockets and unfortunately my phone fell out of the pocket as soon as I put it in, which caused damage! Photos were taken immediately and it was escalated to the lady on front desk, who gave me an email address! I have emailed and sent pictures and had no response. This was 3 weeks ago! Disgusting to be honest that they are charging for those robes and can’t even have the decency to give you in tact robes to enjoy your SPA experience! PLEASE AVOID and if you can’t , CHECK THE ROBE POCKETS!!!!

A breakthrough experience.
I’m not sure why there’s so many negative reviews; maybe I just got lucky but I had the most incredible experience at Peterborough Health Spa today.
I’ve had first degree burn scarring on both my feet for my whole life, and I’ve always been terrified of people touching them - any kind of contact is almost like agony. Today I decided I’d risk a treatment and try to get over my discomfort of my feet being touched.
I’m so glad I did - the masseuse (I really wish I’d got her name!) was aware, she was so excellent with my feet and making me feel comfortable. My feet now feel amazing. This was HUGE for me and done with care and consideration for how nervous I was; I couldn’t recommend the treatments enough.
On top of that we had access to the spa and gym; whilst I didn’t use the gym, I did use the pool, steam room and sauna. All top quality with plenty of included facilities like hairdryers, swimsuit driers and more.
My only concern is that people lingered in the jacuzzis for far longer than the advised 15mins so I didn’t get a chance; but either way my experience was top notch.
I will absolutely be coming back again, even if just to have my foot treatments again.
